In the spirit of the new, Texas Architect magazine dedicated its first issue of the new millennium (January, 2000) to looking to the future by focusing on young architects, designers, teachers, and students. From the recommendations and nominations, Texas Architect chose to feature Mike Ablon who was trained in architecture but shifted his focus to real estate development, where he thought he could have more influence on design.
